Functional Lab Testing
Why You Should Choose Functional Lab Testing
At 3:6 Wellness Clinic, we believe in taking a root-cause approach to health. That’s why we offer a range of advanced functional lab tests through Vibrant Wellness, a leader in precision diagnostics. These labs help us look beyond basic bloodwork to assess key areas like gut health, food sensitivities, nutrient status, detox capacity, hormone balance, and total toxic burden.
Whether you're struggling with fatigue, inflammation, skin issues, hormone imbalances, or just want to take a proactive approach to your health, our testing allows us to create personalized, data-driven protocols tailored to your body’s unique needs.
Functional lab testing kits typically range from $300–$500 each, with bundle discounts often available when multiple tests are ordered. An initial office visit is required to review your health history and determine which tests are appropriate, followed by a follow-up appointment to go over your results and personalized recommendations.
Food Sensitivity Panel
A test that measures IgG (or combined IgG/IgA) antibody levels to various foods. The idea is to detect foods that might be provoking immune responses or chronic inflammation in you. Some people experience silent or low-grade inflammation triggered by foods that don’t show up on standard allergy panels. Identifying “reactive” foods can help calm the immune system, reduce symptoms (digestive, skin, migraines, fatigue), and support healing.
What this test can reveal:
Foods that may trigger immune reactivity
Patterns of food groups (e.g. dairy, gluten, nuts) causing reactivity
Opportunity for rotational diets or temporary elimination
We guide you through an elimination or rotation protocol, tracking symptom changes. We also monitor for nutritional adequacy (so the diet remains balanced). After a period, foods may be challenged or re-introduced slowly as you pay attention to your symptoms.
Gut Zoomer
What it can reveal:
Presence of pathogenic bacteria, overgrowths, parasites, or opportunistic organisms
Diversity and abundance of beneficial microbes
Markers of inflammation (calprotectin, lactoferrin, etc.)
Indicators of gut barrier integrity
Digestive enzyme or fermentation imbalances
From your results, we may recommend targeted probiotics, prebiotics, antimicrobial or antifungal protocols, dietary modifications, gut-healing nutrients, and lifestyle support.
A comprehensive gut microbiome / stool test that looks at beneficial vs. pathogenic bacteria, yeast/fungi, parasites, markers of digestion, gut inflammation, and intestinal permeability (leaky gut). The gut is a key interface with nutrients, the immune system, and systemic health (mood, skin, autoimmunity). Imbalances in gut flora or barrier function often underlie broader health issues.
Hormone Zoomer
What it can reveal:
Sex hormone levels and balance (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, SHBG, free & total)
Adrenal / cortisol rhythm (AM/PM, diurnal variations)
Estrogen metabolites (i.e. whether you're favoring “good” vs “bad” pathways)
Thyroid panel integration (often included)
Endocrine disruptors
We customize hormone balancing protocols including: adaptogens, herbs, nutrients, lifestyle timing (sleep, stress, exercise). We monitor over time until you reach your optimal balance.
A deep endocrine panel assessing sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA), stress hormones (cortisol, adrenal markers), thyroid markers, and often hormone metabolites. Hormones orchestrate nearly every system in the body — metabolism, mood, immune, reproduction, energy. Imbalances can lead to fatigue, weight gain, PMS, menopause symptoms, brain fog, etc.
Methylation Panel
What it can reveal:
Homocysteine levels (a risk marker when elevated)
Methylation cofactor status (B12, folate, B6, riboflavin, etc.)
Methylation capacity or blockages
Potential genetic SNPs affecting methylation (depending on test)
We may recommend targeted B-vitamin support (methylated B12, 5-MTHF, B6, riboflavin, betaine), manage methylation load (e.g. reduce need via detox or reducing toxic burden), and monitor progress over time.
This panel evaluates key metabolites in the methylation pathways (e.g. homocysteine, SAM/SAH, methylation cofactors, B-vitamin metabolite levels) plus related genes (like MTHFR). Methylation is central to detoxification, neurotransmitter production, DNA repair, immune function, and more. Suboptimal methylation can lead to fatigue, mood disorder, cardiovascular stress, and detox burden.
Micronutrient Panel
A lab test that measures intracellular levels (often in RBCs or lymphocytes) of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and cofactors — going beyond serum levels alone. Blood plasma levels can remain “normal” even when functional stores inside cells are low. Intracellular micronutrient testing gives a more sensitive assessment of cellular sufficiency.
What it can reveal:
Deficiencies or suboptimal levels of vitamins (B complex, A, D, K, E, C)
Mineral levels and trace elements (zinc, copper, selenium, magnesium, etc.)
Antioxidant capacity
Nutrient cofactors essential for enzymatic reactions
We design customized micronutrient supplementation strategies, adjust diet, and track changes over time. Addressing hidden deficiencies can improve energy, immunity, mood, and detox support.
Tickborne Complete 2.0
A comprehensive test that screens for Lyme disease, tickborne relapsing fever, and a wide range of common co-infections and opportunistic pathogens. This panel uses advanced microarray and PCR technology to detect both immune responses and direct pathogen DNA, offering a more accurate and thorough look at possible tickborne illnesses. Tickborne infections can be difficult to diagnose and often go undetected with traditional testing. Many people experience lingering symptoms, like fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, and neurological changes.
What it can reveal:
Borrelia species (Lyme disease and relapsing fever)
Common co-infections like Babesia, Bartonella, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia
Opportunistic pathogens such as Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), and others
Your immune system’s antibody responses (IgG/IgM) and potential current infection through DNA detection
If results show past or present infections, we build a targeted plan that may include immune support, herbal or antimicrobial therapies, detoxification strategies, and symptom-specific care. For some patients, identifying these infections is a key turning point in addressing long-term health struggles.
Total Toxic Burden
What it can reveal:
Levels of heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, etc.)
Organic toxins (such as phthalates, bisphenols, PCBs, pesticides)
Mycotoxins (in some panels)
Biomarkers of oxidative stress or detox overload
We prioritize detox support (phase I/II, glutathione, binders, chelation, sweating, lymphatic drainage) based on your specific toxin profile. We also advise on lifestyle changes to reduce future exposure (filters, diet, safer household products).
A comprehensive assessment of the body’s burden of environmental toxins — including heavy metals, organic pollutants, pesticide residues, mycotoxins, and other toxins. Chronic exposure to toxins can hinder detoxification systems, disrupt hormones, increase inflammation, and contribute to chronic illness. Understanding one’s toxic burden allows us to support clearance pathways effectively.
